Our trained Home Support workers will assist you in staying as independent as possible in your own home. During an assessment at your home, we will meet with you to discuss your preferences, needs and any support you require.
Once agreed, we will allocate your own Home Support Worker. They will become your regular Home Support Worker whose aim is to ‘make your day’ in ways that are meaningful to you.
Home Support Workers offer companionship, support with meals and meal preparation, help with spring cleaning, domestic chores, including laundry and ironing and changing bedding. They will assist you with shopping or undertake shopping on your behalf. They can unpack and put away shopping deliveries, collect prescriptions and help you stay connected to friends and activities that are important to you all to enable you to remain in your own home. They can drive and escort you to appointments, trips out, special events, leisure activities, or just ‘pop in’ to check on your wellbeing and any needs.
Many people are finding themselves carers for people they love facing the challenge of juggling everyday life with finding time to care and support their loved ones. As their needs increase so does the time pressures and their dependence on you.
We recognise and understand these difficulties. Our Home Support staff can offer to stay with your loved one while you take some time out for things you need and would like to do.
As part of our companionship service, we can keep your loved one company, take them on an outing, or pop in to check that all is well and give you some much needed respite time. Our intent is to provide you with peace of mind while you take a few hours to have a break.
Our service operates from Monday to Friday
9am - 5pm. Please note we do not cover public holidays. Our visits range from 30 minutes to 4 hours, but these can be negotiated as your assessment.

Hi, I’m Holly! I grew up in a little village called Caldecott, just outside of Uppingham. A fun fact about me is that when I was 11, I had the amazing opportunity to dance for Queen Elizabeth II in Corby—an unforgettable experience that I still cherish to this day.
On my perfect day off, you’ll find me curled up on my comfy sofa watching films. I’ve always loved stories full of mystery and adventure, which is why, if I could spend a week inside any TV show or book, I’d choose Lost. I grew up watching it and was always captivated by its twists and turns.
I joined Evergreen Care Trust in May 2024, so I’ve now been part of the team for just over a year. I initially started as a Home Support Worker, but within my first month, I transitioned into an administrative role in the office—something I was really proud of. It was a big shift, but I embraced the opportunity and quickly adapted.
In my current role, I focus on organising staff rotas and ensuring that our members receive the support they need. My day usually starts at 9am, checking emails and messages that may have come in overnight. A large part of my day involves handling phone calls—both incoming and outgoing—mainly to arrange cover or manage staff sickness. I also prepare files for new members, making sure all the necessary paperwork is photocopied and ready for our support staff, so they have everything they need before heading out on visits.
One of my biggest achievements so far has been stepping into this admin role so quickly and learning how to coordinate everything efficiently. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that I play a part in keeping our care services running smoothly, supporting both our team and the people we care for.
I feel really supported by my manager and the rest of the office team. They’re always there to answer questions or guide me if I’m unsure about something, and that strong sense of teamwork makes a big difference in our day-to-day work.
When I think about the benefits of having a Home Support Worker from Evergreen, I believe it's all about helping our members stay in their own homes for as long as possible. It gives them someone who visits regularly, builds a relationship, and becomes a familiar, trusted presence. We do our best to assign the same staff members to each client, which really helps build consistency and comfort.
Looking to the future, I hope Evergreen continues to grow so we can reach even more people and help them remain independent in their own homes. What motivates me every day is knowing that I’m part of a team that truly cares, working to ensure our members receive the support they need and deserve.
