Social Engagement Lead

Overview

As a Social Engagement Lead, your role at Evergreen Care Trust will be to promote our services and develop opportunities for social engagement, focusing on reducing loneliness and social isolation for local older people.


Hourly Rate: £14.09
Hours: 8 per week

Reporting to: Volunteer Services Manager


Key Responsibilities:

  • To oversee, support and develop Evergreen's successful Friends Together Group which meets on a Monday and Thursday afternoon, alongside the volunteers who run the group.
  • To be involved with our monthly Evergreen and Birth Tree Friendship Lunch.
  • To engage with community partners such as schools, colleges, churches, local authorities to promote Evergreen services and to develop new projects that provide social engagement opportunities for older people.
  • To support Evergreen events, such as annual member tea parties.
  • To attend monthly All Leads Meetings on the first Monday of each month (excluding public holidays) 
  • To understand your role and work within legislatively required and professional boundaries
  • To undertake all other duties as reasonably requested or required of you for the complete fulfilment of the role.


What we're looking for:

  • Experience in people services or volunteering, or in a similar role with transferable skills and experience.
  • A strong understanding of the needs of and challenges facing older people.
  • Experience of running and organising social events.
  • Ability to use own initiative and apply personal skills and knowledge to the requirements of the role.
  • A healthy respect for our organisational values, staff and Volunteer colleagues and our member group.
  • Personable and good people skills, demonstrating a high regard for older people.

Qualifications

  • There are no professional qualifications required but operating or having operated at a lead level is preferred.

Care Services Supervisor

Overview

As a Care Services Supervisor, your role at the Evergreen Care Trust will be to provide structure, support, training and mentoring to the frontline Home Support Worker team who seek to deliver the highest standards of care and support to our members.


 It is the role of the supervisor to ensure that new and existing staff are fully supported in their roles, encouraged to be the best they can be in the delivery of the service and held to account for their care practice and delivery. It is essential in this position that the holder understands, respects and practices the organisational values and that these are embedded and evident across working and care relationships.


Hourly Rate: £16.04
Hours: 30 per week

Reporting to You: Care Supervises Clerk, Home Support Workers


Key Responsibilities:

  • To oversee and supervise the Care Administrator and a team of Care staff delivering high quality care, to our older and often vulnerable member group, their families and carers
  • To ensure the wellbeing, professional development, support and training of new and existing care staff through professional relationships, supervision and appraisal.
  • To respond to referrals, assessments and care planning for members, their families and carers
  • To welcome new members on board, ensuring that they are well informed, understand the assessment process and plan, regular reviews and how to raise any concerns or grievances.
  • Ensure regular review, actions taken, accurate record keeping and adherence to policies and procedures that are designed to give high standard, quality care and support.
  • To carry out appropriate risk assessment and management for each individual member, with the creation of bespoke care plans, this should always be done with member participation.
  • To follow our in-house induction for new staff members and provide training in the workplace, introducing new staff to the care team & members, follow up engagement with service and staff.
  • To provide ongoing support and guidance to new staff members, delivering the very best in training, coaching or mentoring and accountability
  • To ensure care plans, and member records are up to date and relevant on our data system.
  • To assist with rota planning, timesheets, recording holidays and sickness and staff queries/support
  • To liaise regularly with members, their families and other allied or medical professionals.
  • To understand your role and work within legislatively required and professional boundaries
  • To undertake all other duties as reasonably requested or required of you for the complete fulfilment of the role.


What we're looking for:

  • Flexibility and adaptability, to meet the ever-changing demands of the service.
  • Initiative, and innovation, application of skills and knowledge relevant to the leadership role and the Social Care sector.
  • A healthy respect for our organisational values, staff & volunteer colleagues and our member group and their families.
  • A good understanding of and have worked within a Care provision service with recent practical experience of this.

Qualifications

  • Essential - as a minimum, NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (or be working towards or committed to undertake this)
  • Desired - train the trainer qualification or be prepared to complete this
  • Essential - hold a valid UK driving licence, use of a road worthy vehicle and prepared to insure vehicle for business use in your role.

Home Support Worker

Overview

 As a Home Support Worker with the Evergreen Care Trust, you will be part of a wonderful team of caring people who enjoy working with local older people, sensitive to their health and wellbeing needs.

You will also be a lone practitioner, responsible for your practice and provision, while working to Evergreen’s high standards. 

You will be required to support our members with domestic, laundry, shopping, companionship, as well as meal preparation and support and prompting with fluids and or medications. 


You will not be required or permitted to provide personal Care.

 

Evergreen promotes a person centred and whole person approach to meaningful support. Our efforts are intended to promote safe, independent and flourishing lives.


Hourly Rate: £12.21
Part-Time Hours: 5-30 per week


Key Responsibilities

  • Enter our members’ homes as a guest to serve their interests and requirements.
  • Deliver domestic assistance including regular cleaning, laundry, shopping, food preparation, companionship and fluid and medication prompts.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to Evergreen members and their families.
  • Provide respite care and pop-in visits as needed especially when family are away on holiday.
  • Work closely with service users and their families developing a caring relationship, always seeking to act in a professional and empathetic manner, mindful of professional boundaries.
  • Follow Health and Social Care legislation and internal guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and respectful communication with leadership, colleagues, and service delivery requirements to members and their families.
     

What we're looking for:

  • Experience supporting older or vulnerable people is beneficial but not essential – full training provided.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Professionalism, empathy, and commitment to high-quality care.
  • Reliable with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow with support for personal development.

Qualifications: 

  • The Care Certificate and or NVQ qualifications in Health & Social Care (beneficial)
  • A valid driving licence is required.
  • Ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Stamford, Lincolnshire.
  • Subject to a standard DBS check.
