Market, PR & Events role
Evergreen is a local charity with a great story tell, we have over 100 amazing volunteers who help provide vital services and support to older people in our local community. The role of the Marketing, PR & Events Volunteer will be to promote Evergreen’s activities, raise awareness of our services, engage effectively with the wider community and help support Events. This key role will help in promoting all Evergreen has to offer to enable the charity to reach a wider audience.
Reporting to the Volunteer Services Manager, you will commit to a couple of hours a week at our Stamford office or working remotely.
Key responsibilities
This is a varied volunteer role and depending on your skills and interests could include:
- Producing Evergreens newsletter (monthly or quarterly)
- Writing or coordinating articles, press releases for local media
- Producing and designing collateral materials for events
- Assist with writing copy for inclusion in local community magazines or newspapers
- Help support our key annual events e.g annual ball, Christmas fundraising events
Key relationships
- Working closely with Volunteer Services Manager
- Working closely with Evergreen staff and volunteers
- Working with external partners of Evergreen
- Working closely with our current two volunteers who look after Evergreen’s social media and website
Skills, Qualifications and experience required
- The role could suit someone who has a passion for marketing, PR and events and wants to develop their skills in practical situations or an experienced marketer who would like to use their skills for the benefit of the community.
- Ideally you will have some experience in marketing, PR or events.
- Basic design knowledge to create images for social posts
- Experience in online graphic design tools / software packages such as Canva
- An excellent communicator, able to write clearly, accurately and concisely
Training and support required
- Mandatory Online Safeguarding training
- Full on the job training will be provided on all aspects of the role
- Invitation to attend relevant training courses as and when they are arranged.
Parking is available at Evergreen Care Offices in Stamford. Street parking in surrounding roads is also available
