Evergreen Birch Tree Monthly Friendship Lunch

Evergreen in partnership with the Birch Tree Café www.birchtreecafe.co.uk launched in February 2024 a monthly social and friendship lunch for older people living in Easton on the Hill, Stamford and surrounding area.

The event is held in a private room at the Birch Tree Café.  Our members enjoy either a delicious soup & roll or sandwich – followed by tea & cake and then cards & games or a chat.  All for £5. It gives an opportunity for the young adults with Down’s Syndrome to prepare the food, set up the table and serve to engage and grow  in confidence when talking and joining in with games with you, their guests.

 We are particularly interested in supporting seniors who would like to attend a social event but struggle to leave the house for transport or other reasons. We will try where possible to support people to attend.

 Birch Tree Café is a place where young people who have Down’s Syndrome can work, socialise and be accepted as part of a vibrant community. The monthly lunch is a popular, fun, informal group and a good time is had by all.
